Adult Painting Class 1: Gold Sailboat By Leonid Afremov
We did things a bit different this time. Some of the students painted with paint brushes and other painted with palette knives. Here are the lessons that we learned in order of importance:
Niki Jamieson Art Class, Gr 1-3, Crazy O
In my mind when I was planning this project, I didn't realize how diabolical he would look once he was completed by 1st-3rd graders, but it's pretty cool!
Niki Jamieson Art Class, Gr 4-6, K&L in Love
Cupid, please hear my cry. And let your arrows fly, straight through L & K for meeee!
Adult Painting Class 4 (FINAL): Old fishing boat Painting by Dmitriy Fedorov
I'd like to think that this is the boat that Andy is caring for when Red finally shows up on Zihuatanejo Beach for their awesome reunion. That hug! Are you crying?
Niki Jamieson Art Class, Gr 1-3, Love is N the Air
Love is N the Air! Get it? N the air? We used cut paper, scissors, glue and oil pastels to create our Valentine N floating away with its wonderful heart balloons.
Niki Jamieson Art Class, Gr 4-6, Surfing J
Surfing J is hangin 10 on the biggest wave in Hawaii and looking WICKED COOL! The kids nailed this one with their blue gradients, foreground/background action and kick-ass rad hair-dues!
Niki Jamieson Art Class, Gr 1-3, M for Minecraft
We caught Letter M on the Minecraft scene looking very 3D sitting on the grass and dirt blocks and among the cloud blocks.
Niki Jamieson Art Class, Gr 4-6, Underwater I
Scuba-diver I searches the ocean floor for gold! This was such a fun class. The kids loved following along as we colored with oil pastels over the painted ocean. After that, we had 15 minutes left for a fast sketch and sketched Stitch. There are also some Bruno sketches from last week that I added in.
Adult Painting Class 3: Old fishing boat Painting by Dmitriy Fedorov
We were able to add character to this old boat by painting rust-colored, nicked paint staining the sides of the boat. We added in the bottom section of the boat very carefully by, not only painting in the shadows and highlights, but by painting in the direction of the boat curves so that our strokes matched the wooden panels.
